Maqui Berry and Antioxidants – what are the health benefits?
While there are numerous Maqui berry benefits to one’s health, one of the primary reasons the Maqui berry is touted as a superfood is its antixodant properties. In fact, the Maqui berry boasts one of the highest levels of antioxidants of any fruit in the world, but just why are antioxidants important to health and what are the benefits of boosting their levels by taking this superfood?
The ORAC or Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity is a score given to any food or health supplement – the higher the score, the higher the antioxidant levels in that food or supplement.
